Real Estate Licensing in Coleman city, Florida

Who Needs a License

Florida law regulates real estate professionals through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). Under Fla. Stat. § 489.105, a "real estate broker" is defined as any person who, for compensation, sells, exchanges, purchases, rents, or leases real property, or offers to engage in these activities, or advertises these services to the public.

A "real estate sales associate" is defined as any person employed by or associated with a broker who performs any of these functions on behalf of the broker.

If you perform real estate brokerage services in Coleman for compensation—whether buying, selling, renting, or leasing property—you must be licensed. This applies regardless of whether you work independently or for a firm.
